Smartest Man in China

With nine educational diplomas under his belt, Zhou Baokuan can definitely claim the title of “smartest man in China.” When it comes to education, we all want the best for our kids, but I think Zhou Baokuan’s parents might have pushed him a little to far, when he was a child. I mean, the man started studying and even though he is now 53 years old, he has no intention of stopping. More images after the break...

In recognition of his incredible desire to study, an organization known as China World Records Association decided to award Zhou the title of “man with most diplomas in the world.” Over the course of 35 years of intense studying (sometimes without sleep) the man earned a total of nine diplomas, including three doctoral diplomas and two masters degrees. Zhou, a resident of Shenyang City, admits it wasn’t easy getting this many diplomas, and reckons he spent around 126,500 hours studying for them. Believe it or not, Zhou Baokuan is currently studying to get his fourth doctoral degree, at Fudan University.

The world's shortest living man

Edward Nino Hernández is in many ways a typical 24-year-old Colombian man. He loves to dance reggaeton, dreams of owning a car – preferably a Mercedes-Benz – and wants to see the world. What sets him apart is his size. He is slightly taller than a piece of carry-on luggage and weighs just 10kg (22lbs). Nino Hernández has just been officially certified as the world's shortest living man by Guinness World Records, measuring 70cm (27in). "He hasn't grown since he was two years old," his mother, Noemi Hernández, said of the oldest of her five children. More images after the break...

The previous titleholder was He Pingping of China, who was 4cm taller and died on 13 March.They say Nino Hernández 's reign is not likely to last long, however. Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal is expected to take over after he turns 18 on 14 October. He measures about 56 cm and is currently recognised by Guinness as the shortest living teenager. Doctors never could explain why Ninõ is so small, his parents say.

"They never gave us a diagnosis," says his mother, during an interview in the family's sparely furnished apartment in Bosa, a district of southern Bogotá.

Hernández, 43, said her son weighed 1.5kg at birth and was 38cm long.

She said doctors at the National University studied him until he was three, then lost interest. She and her husband, a security guard, lost a daughter who was similarly small in 1992 when she was nearly a year old.

The couple's youngest child, 11-year-old Miguel Angel, stands 93cm tall and has facial features similar to his older silbling. The other three boys are of average height and appearance.

"I feel happy because I'm unique," Nino Hernández said in an interview.

He does, however, have his problems: cataracts in both of his eyes that blur his vision and, says his mother, require urgent surgery that the family can't afford.

Other than his eyes, he has no medical complaints.

Nino Hernández has earned some cash dancing at department stores and is now acting in a film in which he plays a drug dealer.

He adds that he's got used to all the picture-taking. But being the world's smallest man does have its drawbacks.

"It bothers me that people are [always] touching me and picking me up," he said. Via Link 1 2

Most Married Woman World Record set by Linda Wolfe

American grandmother Linda Wolfe has become "the most married woman in the world" after walking down the aisle 23 times, and is now "on the lookout for number 24".
Mrs Wolfe, 68, is included in the Guinness Book of World Records for the dubious honour of being wed more times than anyone else alive. More after the break...

She has said that she is "addicted to the romance" of getting married.
Born Linda Lou Taylor, the American first married in 1957 aged 16, to a 31-year-old called George Scott.
The union lasted for seven years, the longest and happiest of any of her marriages.
Since then things have tended to go downhill.
Over the subsequent decades she married a one-eyed convict, a preacher, barmen, plumbers and musicians.
Two turned out to be homosexual, two were homeless and one beat her. Another put a padlock on her fridge.
One marriage lasted just 36 hours because "the love wasn't there".
But Linda, from Indiana, once married the same man, Jack Gourley, three times.
She has had seven children by her different husbands and been a stepmother to many more.
Her last marriage, a decade ago, was a publicity stunt.
It was to Glynn Wolfe, who in taking Linda as his bride meant he was the world's most married man, at 29 times.
He died a year later aged 88.
Consequently she said that she was "on the lookout for number 24".
She told The Sun: "It's been years since I walked down the aisle. I miss it."
The serial bride, who now lives in a retirement home, said she had never cheated on a husband. She said if she had her life over again she would "never, ever" marry so many men.

World's Longest Ear Hair

KANPUR, India -- A man in northern India has been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the world's longest ear hair.The tufts coming out of the man's ears measured more than 5 inches when he set the record in 2003.The hair has now grown to nearly 10 inches.In fact, the hair is so long he has to shampoo and comb it.He was granted a certificate from Guinness to certify him as the record-holder.However, he complained that too many people consider his feat foolish and said the Indian government isn't treating him with the respect he deserves as a world record-holder. Mexican Bullfighter's

According to Mexico's National Association of Matadors, Michel "Michelito" Lagravere set the international record at his age for bull calves killed in a two-hour fight watched by more than 3,500 people. More after the break...

But Guinness World Records saif it was not aware that the event was taking place and will not recognise the result.
"We do not accept records based on the killing or harming of animals," it said on its website.Michelito, who turned 11 in December, took the news in his stride. "It's all the same to me because in the world of bullfighting the record is now part of history, although it may not be for Guinness," he said.
Michelito's parents and the organisers of the fights in which he stars have been criticised for allowing the 4ft 5in tall fighter to risk his safety in the ring at such a young age.
Mexico has no minimum age for bullfighting, although by law children are supposed to be closely supervised as they advance from nonlethal exhibitions with small calves to full-fledged lethal bullfights.
One Spanish bullfighter, Jairo Miguel, was nearly gored to death in Mexico in 2007 at the age of 14 when a bull rushed him at high speed and punctured his lung.
A child welfare law enacted last year in Michelito's home state led authorities to briefly suspend last Saturday's landmark bullfight. Investigators allowed the show to go on, but the Yucatan state human rights commission said it still has concerns.
"It's a latent risk that he doesn't have the maturity and the physical strength to do these kinds of activities," said Guadalupe Sosa Escobedo, spokesman for the commission.
His father runs a school for matadors and his mother, Diana Peniche Marenco, said her son has "got it in his blood". But she added: "I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't afraid."
