I Like Drew Barrymore's New Look
Although I have to admit I was not feeling it at first. I really thought she had honed her edgy- bohemian look over the last couple of years and I had enjoyed seeing that look evolve on her.
Her auburn hair colour I covet and she always had an edge to her ensembles, even if it was just a glimpse of her ankle tattoo. It's her warm and down-to-earth self-deprecating personality that reflects her outer glow and makes her someone you would like to have as your friend I think. She's a little bit naughty too and isn't afraid to show it.
Her portfolio for Missoni in 2006 was beautifully shot and showed Drew looking like a gorgeous and sexy Italian seniorina.
The first I saw of Drew's change in style the Golden Globe Awards in January. I was not sure that her stylist (if she was using one) had steered her in the right direction at first. I was just not expecting to see her blonde, frou-frou-ed and so Hollywood!
Then as I saw more and more of her Grey Garden's premiere looks I began to look forward to what she would wear next.
Each new ensemble was expertly put together and even though I sometimes think that Drew is not a high fashion mannequin (like say Nicole or Uma), she nonetheless has achieved poise and grace in her look and as she appears in more and more fashion spreads for magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue it seems as if her look is in demand and that Fashion Editors are clamouring to have her appear in their magazine.
I'm a sucker for assymetrical patterns, stripes and I just can't say no to a sexy red heel!
While I look forward to her return to the auburn hair, jeans and relaxed attitude, I am liking this look a lot more now.
Penelope Cruz in Venice
It was most certainly an affair to remember, and Penelope Cruz was excited to see her gal pal.......

I Like These Cute Looks Right Now
Another opportunity to show you some gorgeously ridiculous heels, such as these works of art from Galliano's 09/10 Winter collection.
Even though this is an old shot of Kate Moss (from a Pirelli Calendar), I think am liking the idea of a beret this Autumn.
I can't go past a pair of Converse and cargo pants, one of my all time favourite things to wear.
Another gorgeous pair of red shoes, simply to die for!
Thank you to The Sartorialist and to Bliss blog for some of these images.
I Heart Carole Lombard
Carole Lombard (1908-1942) was the highest paid star in Hollywood in the late 1930's.
Sadly Lombard's life was cut short when she was killed in a plane crash at the age of 33.
She was married to Clark Gable at the time of her death.
To those who knew Gable, she was the love of his life and some say he never recovered from her death.
On screen Lombard was known for her comedic performances and off screen for her unpretentious personality, she was easy-going and down-to-earth.
Lombard received an nomination for Best Actress in 1936 for My Man Godfrey.
Her final movie "To Be Or Not To Be" was released after her death in 1942.
I Wish (I Want) to Visit Paris Right Now.
Whenever I visit The Paris Apartment blog, I get carried away and transported to another place and time.
I don't know why Paris is so meaningful to me. I get so easily distracted when I come across anything relating to Paris (or France in general) because I am immediately enthralled.
Here are some more gorgeous images from The Paris Apartment. They make me feel tres ooh la la!
The turquoise detail in the picture is pure delight! I feel like I want to grab a paintbrush and add some colour to the house.
Then again, the honey floor boards and the white washed walls and ceiling of this apartment are clean and pure perfection.
I think of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet when I look at this balcony.
Isn't this picture quintessential Paris? I have tried and failed many times to get that shade of grey-green just right.
I adore the parquetry floor in this apartment. It's also clever how they have made a large room more functional by using furniture to create separate sitting areas.
Un si belle vue.
I Heart Dior Joaillerie
It's like having a little garden growing on your finger, so divine! There really isn't much more I can say about these wonderful creations. I think that these pictures speak for themselves.
It is pure whimsy don't you agree? The flowers, the cute insects and the gorgeous colours! The designs are just so incredibly original and delicious.
Yanni Music Video
Yanni born in a picturesque village that no one ever gave thought to leaving, and he's now known in every corner of the globe. Yanni is, without a doubt, a musical phenomenon, one of those rare artists whose music defies borders and boundaries - whose music speaks to people of all races, all nations. And there is more than ample evidence to support such statements. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in psychology, after trading the Grecian sunshine for frosty winters, he would seek a life in music, though he could not read a note and wrote wholly original works that, then and now, defy categorizing. From the beginning, he operated with a simple creed: a faith in hard work and keeping an open mind.
Yanni’s first Grammy-nominated album was Dare to Dream (1992), which produced the vocal single “@ria,” popularized by an award-winning British Airways commercial. His following album, In My Time, a gentler collection of piano-focused pieces, was also nominated for a Grammy Award and attained Platinum status.
Snow White Lives Here
I have two little girls and they adore playing dress-ups. It is not unusual for me to be seen at our local shops with a little Snow White or Sleeping Beauty in tow. Annabel in particular is fond of turning up to Kindy dressed in full costume. Sometimes I catch her acting out Snow White's death scene. She bites into an apple, her eyes roll back in her head, she swoons and then collapses onto the ground in mock death. Then after Prince Charming (played by her big sister Chloe) gives her the kiss of life, she hops up and takes a bow. This is home theatre that I am privileged to be privy to.
While they are currently obsessed with all things "Disney Princess" I am discovering that this can be a blessing and a curse. Whenever we see anything related to a Disney princess, their faces light up, they sigh and ooh and ahh! Then it's "Mummy look at this!" and "Mummy can I have that one?" And then there's "Today I am going be Belle/Cinderella/Snow White/Ariel/Sleeping Beauty." Followed by the inevitable argument over who is going to be which princess - oh the drama!
Lately they have taken to coercing me into surfing the internet to look for pictures of princesses. It was while surfing that we came across these images of Annie Leibovitz' Dream Portrait series for Disney. While it is all very commercial, they are nonetheless beautiful interpretations of classic Disney characters. After Snow White, we had to of course continue our search for their other favourite princesses, Cinderella (Scarlett Johansson) and Ariel (Julianne Moore). Alas we were left wondering whatever happened to Sleeping Beauty and Belle?
